With the recent high winds and electricity shutdowns, students have had a lot of time on their hands. So, what is there to do when you get the amazing “classes canceled” text?
Victoria Gardens is located right off of the 15 freeway in Rancho Cucamonga. This shopping center is home to all of the top brand names such as LuLu Lemon, Oakley, Tillys, Sephora, Ulta, and also has a newly renovated Apple products store. Not only that, but they also offer a wide variety of dining options. Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs, TGI Fridays are all located in the center. They also have a dining hall that has restaurants such as Panda Express if you are looking for a quick bite to eat so that you can get more shopping in.
“Victoria Gardens is a go-to for my girlfriend and I. They have some awesome shops and we love the restaurants,” said student David Marris.
Up next is Bass Pro
Shops. This store is also located in Rancho Cucamonga right next to Victoria Gardens. When you hear the word Bass Pro Shops I know that most people think it is strictly an outdoor shop, which would not be wrong, however, they offer so much more than that and have something for everyone. They have a huge apparel section with top brands like Under Armour, North Face, Colombia, as well as house brands such as ascend and natural selections. They have a lot of visual attractions such as the aquarium in the middle of the store (they also have a saltwater aquarium in the bar), popular North American animals all around the store for visual representation, and starting November 16, they will be having a Santa’s Wonderland. This event is targeted towards the younger crowd but the entire store turns into a Winter Wonderland and is a great place to visit during the holidays.
Last but not least would be to go bowling. Bowling is a great activity for both small and large groups of people. There are so many bowling alleys around the Inland empire that all offer very similar deals and specials throughout the week.
“We really like to go to the bowling alley in Redlands on college night,” said Randy de Dios. Empire Bowl in Redlands offer a special deal on Tuesdays after 9 pm. The deal is for $2 games and $5 pitchers of domestic beers. There is also AMF Arrowhead Lanes right here in San Bernardino that offers different specials almost every night with the most popular being Wednesday nights. They offer unlimited bowling after 9pm for about $8.
If you are looking for things to do with your friends when you have some downtime, these are some of the local attractions that are all within a 20-minute drive of CSUSB. With there not being a lot to do within walking distance of the University, if you do drink please remember to not drive and order an Uber or Lyft.
