With Thanksgiving approaching, some CSUSB students share what they are thankful for during these difficult times.
“I am thankful for my parents, family, all of the supportive people in my life, my job as a behavior interventionist, my education, and my faith and determination. With all of these components, I have been able to overcome the many stressors that have been thrown my way this 2020 and, by doing so, I am most thankful to say that I will be graduating in December as a first-generation college student.”
“At this moment, I am most thankful for my family, friends, and, most importantly, staying healthy and protected throughout this pandemic. I am thankful for these things because now, more than ever, our family, friends, and personal well-being are all that we can truly count on in these trying times. We should no longer take for granted the blessings that we may, or may not, have noticed were in our lives all along, and give thanks more often.”
“I’m most thankful for family, friends, and my professors. My family means the most to me. They have been by my side since day one and support everything I have done in college. They have been a lot of help since the start of the pandemic. They push me to stay in college and pursue my bachelor’s degree in communication. I am thankful for the friends that I have because they keep my spirits up and make my life much more entertaining. I, lastly, want to thank my professors for doing the best they can during these hard times and I know they are all trying their best. Shoutout to professor Metts! You da man!”
“I’m most thankful for my parents. Having moved out and having struggled with a lot of stress and mental health issues, my parents have been so supportive and caring. It made me really realize the position that I am in to have my parents listen to me even when they don’t fully understand what I’m dealing with.”
“I am most thankful for my family and their health because they support me through everything, and I’m not sure what I would do without them.”
“What I’m most thankful for is my well-being and health during this pandemic. I’m grateful to still be working and have my loved ones here with me. Lastly, I’m extremely grateful for all the hard work essential workers are doing right now for us.”
“I’m most thankful to be in good health as well as knowing that my family is also staying healthy during these times. I’m grateful for the support system I have with all of the incredible people in my life. I’m also thankful that I have maintained my motivation to pursue my dream career of working in the medical field!”
