As the 2020-2021 NFL season begins and the pandemic continues, tailgate parties are considered unsafe to take part in. Even if it’s not encouraged to host a lot of people, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun in the kitchen. Have fun with this football season with this jalapeño popper dip recipe!

First you’ll need these ingredients which I have listed below:

10 slices bacon

1 (8-oz.) block cream cheese, softened

1/3 c. mayonnaise

1/3 c. sour cream

1 tsp. garlic powder

2 jalapeños, minced

1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar

1 1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

This recipe can feed four to six people and preparation time is only 30 minutes.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350º. In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook bacon in batches until crispy (usually takes about 8 minutes). Drain on a plate lined with paper towels, and then chop.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together cream cheese, mayo, sour cream, garlic powder, three-fourths of the cooked bacon, three-fourths of the jalapeños, and 1 cup each of cheddar and Monterey Jack. Top with salt and pepper.
  3. Take mixture and place in an oven-safe skillet or dish and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup each of cheddar and Monterey Jack, the remaining 1/4 of  cooked bacon, and the remaining 1/4 jalapeño.
  4. Bake until dip is golden and bubbly, 15 to 20 minutes. (If desired, broil 3 minutes to get cheese extra-golden.) Serve with tortilla chips or baguette slices.

A very popular choice is serving this with Cheesecake Factory’s Famous “Brown Bread” in the form of a baguette (usually found at Ralph’s). This dip is perfect to compliment game day menus, picnics, etc. Take a dip into this recipe!
