The holidays are starting to ramp up and as we prepare for the festivities, we have to remember the ones who are less fortunate than us. The Ronald McDonald House charity attempts to bring together that missing piece this holiday season.
The charity is aimed at aiding children and their families during rough medical times. During the holiday season, this becomes increasingly important and the Ronald McDonald house does it’s best to create a special environment.
The charity collects donations, whether it be a simple cash contribution or a toy for a child. They decorate their offices to show that they are inviting to children and that they should feel comfortable. All in all, the charity goes above and beyond to try and make children feel at home.
You don’t have to donate directly to the foundation in order to lend out a helping hand, as Ronald McDonald has teamed up with other companies for the holidays. One example of this would be the ability to donate a five dollar stuffed animal at Petsmart stores. The stores collect all donations from their stores and personally bring them down to a house where they are distributed to the children. A five dollar stuffed animal may not be much, but it can make someone’s whole day.
Holidays can be rough enough when you’re dealing with personal illnesses, and the Ronald McDonald House understands that and attempts to give children the Christmas they deserve just as much as anyone else.
