Fall down the rabbit hole and into the Mad T Party, a thrilling, nighttime experience that you will not want to miss.
The Mad T Party Band is a clever, musical spin on the characters from the movie, “Alice in Wonderland,” directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp and Mia Waskowska.
Alice, the Mad Hatter, and others in the band perform songs each night at Disney California Adventure, the theme park located across from Disneyland.
This event promises to deliver good music from the Mad T Party Band, delicious yet wacky drinks and more.
Performances typically begin at the top of each hour from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Sundays and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, according to the Disney California Adventure Entertainment Times guide.
This free pamphlet with performance times can be picked up at the park’s entrance.
There are several musicians who fill in as the different roles, like Alice, the Mad Hatter and the others, depending upon the night and availability.
The Mad T Party Band plays a variety of songs from The Beatles to Kelly Clarkson and songs from other popular musicians.
They even played “The Unbirthday Song,” a song from the original movie, “Alice in Wonderland,” but with an edgy, rock and roll twist.
The White Rabbit DJ opens the show by mixing some classic tracks that included “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga and Britney Spears’ “Stronger.”
Then the Mad T Party Band takes the stage and the performance lasts for about thirty minutes.
Alice and the Mad Hatter, talented lead singers, encourage the audience to sing along, making the experience all the more unique.
Lead Guitarist March Hare often provides backup vocals for the lead singers.
A positive, stand-out character, the March Hare frequently jumps while playing the bass guitar, engaging the audience by waving, smiling and making humorous faces at them.
Lead Guitarist Dormouse rocks the solos that added to the excitement of the songs for the audience.
The Caterpillar on keyboard and the Cheshire Cat on drums round out the band.
“Don’t Stop Believin’,” a song by the band Journey and associated with hit TV show “Glee,” is another song the Mad T Party Band performed, thrilling the audience.
The audience sings along and loudly applaud during the performance.
Moving neon playing cards and circles are projected behind the band, creating a dazzling light show.
Bubbles and sometimes fake snow rains down on the audience during certain times while the band performs.
Even a few people jump up, trying to catch the bubbles.
Some dancers in the audience show off their moves, turning the band’s performance into an outdoors nightclub.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, complete with glowing ice cubes that change colors from blue to red to green, can be purchased nearby to enjoy during the show.
The audience even get the chance to take photos with the band before and after the performance, emphasizing that this is a unique, fun experience.
