The Coyotes win puts them at 7-2 in the conference, bringing their overall record to 13-4. Libero Abbey Vollkommer had 19 digs in front of an outstanding attendance of 674. With a close first set, OH Lauren Nicholson and middle blocker Hailey Jackson both had kills in a seemingly comfortable first set for the Coyotes. Women’s Basketball Preview
By Yera Nanan |Staff Writer| With less than a month until the first game of the season, the women's basketball team is getting ready to deliver a great performance. Last season the team had a great run, going 14-13 overall and 10-10 in the CCAA. The team is looking to go above and beyond this season, hoping to reach the CCAA Tournament semifinals for a third consecutive season, with the chance of winning the championship. "We want to win a championship but that can't happen without doing things day-to-day," said assistant coach Tulyah Gains. Women’s basketball reaches fifth straight loss
By Erin Leach |Staff Writer| The women’s basketball team was unable to gain the needed extra points to bring home wins this past weekend. The Coyotes took on the Sonoma State Seawolves on Friday, Jan. 25 and lost 50-53. The teams went back and forth Friday night. Fans were excited when after the half, the Coyotes picked up their game to gain a 41-34 lead, but the team was unable to power through the remainder of the game. “Often, it is how we pick ourselves up after a defeat or setback that determines our success,” said head coach Kevin Becker. Softball bites the dust in weekend series with Chico State
By Chelsea Underwood |Staff Writer| Coyote softball failed to deliver against the Chico State Wildcats during their April 14 0-2 road series loss. The Lady ‘Yotes were rocky from beginning to end in the first game, allowing a three-run home run by the Wildcats catcher Hailey Stockman in the first inning. Trouble escalated in the third inning when the Wildcats scored another two runs, augmenting their advantage to a 5–0 lead. Junior infielder Alyssa Flores answered the Wildcats’ five-run rally with a booming home run to left field in the sixth inning. Lady ‘Yotes on Pace for playoffs
By Keleigh Acosta Staff Writer The CSUSB Women’s softball is off to one of their best start in recent years and Stefanie Pace, although being small in stature, standing at 5 feet 5 inches, is a big part of their success. Pace, an aggressive hitter and sterling second baseman, is reveling in the success. "We have only lost three games so far," said Pace.
