Presently, electronic cigarettes generate $1.5 billion a year, but Bloomberg Industries predicts that electronic cigarette sales could surpass those of tobacco, an industry already producing a market of half a trillion dollars collectively. According to WHO, “In order to declare an Ebola outbreak over, a country must pass 42 days with active surveillance in place, and with no new cases detected.” “This is a spectacular success story that shows Ebola can be contained,” said WHO. Some citizens of Nigeria were infected with the virus in July by a sick air traveler. The country of Nigeria reacted by isolating and treating those who had been infected or had come in contact with someone who had contracted the virus and then physically monitored them for 21 days. U.S. man dies of Ebola
By Robin Alcantara |Staff Writer| The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are moving forward with plans set in place to prevent the further spread of ebola after the first ebola patient diagnosed in the U.S died. Thomas Eric Duncan of Liberia died on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Duncan was one of six reported Ebola patients in the U.S. Five other patients were diagnosed while in West Africa and were sent home for treatment. “Additional cases may occur in the U.S., particularly people traveling from the outbreak region,” stated Dr. Laura Newcomb, a CSUSB faculty member.
