More than 4,000 local walkers attended, including the wonderful siblings Jillian Rose and Robbie Tucker who have worked closely with ADA ever since their older brother was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. November is Diabetes awareness month and currently there are nearly 26 million Americans who have diabetes. In efforts to raise awareness stars gathered up at the Step Out Walk for the ADA. Kappa Deltas host run for child abuse awareness
Marysol Guzman |Staff Writer| Kappa Delta will hold their third annual Shamrock 5K walk/run March 9 in front of the Pfau Library to raise awareness of child abuse. Kappa Delta does this charitable run to raise money and awareness for Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA), a national prevention awareness campaign geared towards educating local communities about child abuse, and the Child Help facility, a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect. Relay for Life hosted at CSUSB
By Alejandra Arana |Staff Writter| CSUSB hosted a 24-hour Relay For Life walk to raise awareness and funds for cancer patients and research. The event took place at the track field by the Student Recreation and Fitness Center from May 4 at 4 p.m. to May 5 at 4 p.m. The next day with multiple on-campus organizations along with community members that participated. Groups of at least 10 members registered before hand to the organization so that they could walk for the cause. “Each participating team had one walker on the track at all times in order to raise awareness and symbolize that cancer never stops,” said Nadine Garcia, member of the Sigma Pi Alpha team. By: Norberto Perez |Staff Writer| A Raw Paw Blog “Two of my children were stabbed,” said Debra Casillas, 51, “Life is getting worse here in San Bernardino.” Casillas who has lived in San Bernardino all her life cites problems to, “Children roaming the streets; doing drugs and having no respect for their elders.” Her daughter, Sonia Gonzales echoed deep concern, “Gang life and tagging crews have no paths but to hospitalization, jail and death.” The two were part of a march down Mt.
