HSSBV practices safer operations for animal care

October 27, 2020 by Ana Valenzuela Leave a Comment

The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley (HSSBV) continues to provide services for animals and animal lovers alike as it celebrates 50 years as a local non-profit organization. Joyce Martin founded HSSBV on March 16, 1970. According to Jill A. Henderson, Director of Development & Outreach of HSSBV, it started with a group of friends in Martin's garage, which later expanded to its own building. "The HSSBV started as a volunteer-driven dream and in 50 years we have helped over two million animals, annually serving an average of 60,000 pets," stated Teri Seymour, Executive Director of HSSBV. According to Henderson, Martin's vision was to provide programs and services that … [Read more...] about HSSBV practices safer operations for animal care

CSUSB’s first annual Coyote Cares Day was held Saturday, April 27 as a part of National Volunteer Week. Coyote Cares Day, an event created and planned by Community University Partnerships at CSUSB, was dedicated to volunteer service within the City of San Bernardino. By Jhonsie Hamilton |Staff Writer| Volunteering is not only about giving your time to others, but it can also be life changing. A few organizations that you could volunteer for are the Habitat for Humanity, the Youth Action Project and the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley (HSSBV). The Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to eliminate poverty housing. They plan to reach this goal by providing low income families with decent, affordable housing. Volunteers, experienced workers, suppliers, city and government officials all work together to help achieve this main goal. The Youth Action Project is also a non-profit organization established … [Read more...] about Obtaining life changing experiences
