When Max Levy had a metal plate inserted in his chest to assist his battle against hemophilia, he quickly realized, "I'm Iron Man!," according to an article on nbc.news.com. Marvel writers got wind of the story when #IronMax appeared on social media. According to Nature World News, “Ebola is thought to have had originated in small and unassuming animals in West Africa.” It is not transmitted through air and water, contrary to what many people believe. U.S. man dies of Ebola
By Robin Alcantara |Staff Writer| The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are moving forward with plans set in place to prevent the further spread of ebola after the first ebola patient diagnosed in the U.S died. Thomas Eric Duncan of Liberia died on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Duncan was one of six reported Ebola patients in the U.S. Five other patients were diagnosed while in West Africa and were sent home for treatment. “Additional cases may occur in the U.S., particularly people traveling from the outbreak region,” stated Dr. Laura Newcomb, a CSUSB faculty member. The virus is not harmful to humans, but is having a heavy effect on the pork industry where numbers are estimated to be in the millions of pigs lost to the virus.
