Veganism was once the target for jokes and mockery; however, it has gained popularity in the past few years. Vegans made up six percent of the United States' population in 2015, according to FoodNavigator.com. Veganism has grown to 2.5 percent of the United States population, according to Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG).
