By Omar Iniguez and Jasmine McCoy Pink and red balloons. Chocolates. Hearts everywhere you go. These are just a few things that are synonymous with a day that people either love to hate or go all out for. That’s right, Valentine’s Day. February 14 is a day that people associate with as a day of love, or in some cases, loneliness. Whatever the case may be, CSUSB hosted an event in the Student Union on February 6, 2020, called “Stay Safe, Valentine!” The hosts of this event were dedicated to providing useful information on how to stay safe and protected when engaging in relations with your partner. Valentine’s Day survival guide
By Erendy Torres |Staff Writer| Valentines Day is right around the corner and do you know what that means? Bingo—you guessed it: first dates, roses, chocolates, teddy bears, and potential new relationships. Ahhh, the romanticism. Or it can be completely opposite: single, stuffing your face with chocolate ice cream, watching reruns of "Friends," and wiping your runny nose on your cat. Though the second scenario sounds quite tempting, you will not spend Valentine's Day alone. The ratio of single men in their 20's to single women in their 20's is 1.2 to 1 according to the website Statistic Brain Research Institute. You will not be part of either of those ratios. Having a … [Read more...] about Valentine’s Day survival guide
Coyote men’s basketball suffers unfortunate loss
By Nathaniel Lastrapes |Staff Writer| Forty minutes were not enough as the Coyotes suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Chico State Wildcats 73-72 on a three-pointer at the buzzer. The Coyotes led 72-70 with 10 seconds remaining in overtime, after Coyote shooting guard, Jacob Thomas, missed a free throw and gave the Wildcats one more opportunity to tie or take the lead. The Wildcats swung the ball around the perimeter to their point guard, Mike Rosaroso, for a wide-open three-point basket that he nailed at the buzzer, securing the victory for the Wildcats. "We played terrible," said Coyote's head coach Jeff Oliver. "We didn't play as a team on either end of the … [Read more...] about Coyote men’s basketball suffers unfortunate loss
