Tyler, the Creator cries Wolf

By Lupe Duran |Staff Writer| Tyler, the Creator fans received the expected outlandish antics of the Odd Future member in his newest album, along with a pleasantly surprising look into his personal thoughts on love, relationships and fame. Wolf contains the same comedic elements and explicit language over mellow beats, courtesy of Hodgy Beats, which are similar to his previous albums. What we love and appreciate from Tyler and the Odd Future gang is that they remind listeners to look beyond mainstream music. Originality is not dead. Bands bring a local flavor to the SMSU

The Underground Music Society held an event to support and promote local bands from the Inland Empire. The Underground Music Society is all about promoting music culture and conscience on CSUSB campus. The Local Band Spotlight introduced three local bands: Psychedelic Milk, Feather Static and Violet Sun. These bands offered a good variety of rock music, from a classic rock sound to an acoustic feel. Art exhibit showcases skating world at CSUSB

By Ryan Hester |Staff Writer| The underground skating scene has made its way to the surface as scintillating skate decks fill the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art at CSUSB. “Full Deck: A Short History of Skate Art” is a traveling exhibition that features beautiful artwork on an unorthodox canvas: skateboard decks. The exhibition also presents the fascinating history of skate art from the 1960s to present day. "The skate artist’s aesthetic— raw, passionate and personal— is energized by a devotion to the act of skating and a DIY embrace of the skate culture," said Carrie Lederer, curator of the exhibition.
