As stated in an email sent by President Tomàs Morales, Delgado will not be considered as a candidate for the permanent position. A nationwide search for a permanent candidate is underway. Delgado will serve as Interim Provost until the fulfillment of the permanent position. Delgado has been a part of the CSUSB faculty since 1988; serving as Assistant to the Provost, Chair of the English Department, and Interim Chair of the Communication Studies Department during his 27 years at CSUSB. Poster of possible suspect released
By Marion Gil |News Editor| A wanted poster of a suspect who is allegedly responsible for sexual assault and attempted kidnapping near CSUSB's Pfau Library was e-mailed to students, faculty, and staff on Wednesday, March 11. The sexual assault occurred on Wednesday, March 4 in a stairwell at the Pfau Library. The suspect grabbed the victim and kissed her several times on the face, then the victim kicked the suspect in the groin, causing him to flee, according to University Police. The attempted kidnapping occurred on Sunday, March 8, behind the Pfau Library. President Morales responds to CSUSB crimes
By Marion Gil |News Editor| In response to the recent rise in crime at CSUSB, President Tomás Morales sent out an e-mail Monday, March 9, detailing how he and the University are dealing with the threat. According to the e-mail, University Police personnel has more than doubled and now patrols 24 hours a day; additional personnel have been brought in from other CSU campuses to supplement our own. Additional police presence has been requested for the neighborhoods surrounding the CSUSB campus. Tom Long is Professor of the year
By Marlyn Rodriguez |Managing Editor| On Tuesday, March 3, Tom Long, CSUSB associate professor of history, was ambushed during his Historical Documentaries lecture and awarded the Golden Apple Award. For the CSUSB community, the Golden Apple Award is also known as the Outstanding Professor of the year award, according to the San Bernardino Sun. The decision of who becomes the professor of the year is solely up to students and alumni who nominate the professor by writing recommendations. CSUSB president proposes plan to end student disturbance

President Dr. Tomas Morales provided a commentary in The Sun where he states he is planning on reaching out to local landlords at apartment complexes where students are known to reside. El Presidente Tomás Morales dubbed Juan Delgado, “El Jefe” after presenting him with this year’s Professor of the Year Award. Professor Delgado has become a great asset to this university. He has chaired the English department, Communications department and served on many committees throughout his career. December 8th 2012 Shooting of Bartholomew Williams
By Luz Hernandez |Staff Writer| A 38-year-old Cal State San Bernardino graduate student was shot and killed by campus police on Dec. 8. Bartholomew Williams died during an altercation with campus police, just after the CSUSB Commencement Ceremonies. The tragedy has left students, faculty and staff at CSUSB in shock. University officials have been holding open forums for members of our university community to express their sentiments and concerns regarding the shooting. CSUSB president brings awareness to Prop. 30

According to the voters guide sent out to registered voters, Proposition 30 would allow temporary taxes to fund education. Although it is geared towards K-12, if the proposition does not pass it will directly effect CSU’s, by cutting the budget statewide by $250 million dollars, which would equate to a $10 million dollar budget cut at CSUSB. “What we’re trying to do is educate our students, our parents, our faculty and staff about Prop. 30.
