By Noe Ramos |Staff Writer| The exhibit “Beyond The Fences/Mas Alla de los Fences” opened on Jan. 17 at the University of Redlands' art gallery. CSUSB professors Thomas McGovern and Juan Delgado, along with professor Raul Acero from the University of Redlands, collaborated to make the exhibit possible. Delgado specializes in poetry, literature, translation theory and creative writing. McGovern specializes in documentaries and photography. CSUSB professors, Juan Delgado and Thomas McGovern author new book

By Rachel Molina |Staff Writer| Juan Delgado and Thomas McGovern depicted the hidden beauty of San Bernardino’s cultural landscape in an elegant way in their book, “Vital Signs.” The book was a seven year project that pays homage to the region and its working-class Latino community. “Vital Signs” is an exhibit based on the book that is now showing in the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA) on campus. Delgado and McGovern are also both CSUSB professors who both teach their respective crafts of art and writing to their students. Professor Delgado inspired by simplicity

By Desirae Contreras |Staff Writer| English professor and published poet Juan Delgado has dedicated himself to inspiring others through his writing. The CSUSB Alumnus has published books: “Green Web” (1994), “El Campo” (1998), “A Rush of Hands” (2003) and his soon-to-be released “Vital Signs and Lavish Weeds.” Delgado has learned to appreciate the inner beauty of life’s simplicities through his poetry. “I’m writing about the things that matter to me and the context and culture in my history.
