September 18, 2013 by Archived posts 39 Comments

By Phil Ruddle |News Editor| Buy all of your textbooks online this quarter and avoid the bookstore to save money. There are a lot of online sites you can go to purchase or rent a book whether it be digital or hard copy such as amazon and half.com, however websites with a universal search engine that are designed to find the cheapest prices for books is the way to go. Bigwords.com is the best search engine option because its sole purpose is to find the absolute cheapest way to get your book. All you do is type in the title of the textbook or the ISBN number, add all the books you want, go to your book-bag (shopping cart), and click start price comparison. Let the stalking begin; privacy issues arise with Google Glass

May 24, 2013 by Archived posts 5 Comments

By Phil Ruddle | Staff Writer Last week the Chronicle published a feature about an upcoming new era to technology called Google Glass. If you missed it, you can find part one at coyotechronicle.net. In last week’s issue, we learned all about Glass and its features as they are computerized glasses that can take pictures, record video, give you directions and translate foreign languages. However, the issue of privacy arises when you snap a picture or record someone in public without their permission. SLIP into a new world this summer

May 10, 2013 by Archived posts 179 Comments

By Phil Ruddle | Staff Writer| Dany Doueiri talks quickly, he moves all over the place, he’s always in and out of his office, he is a man in constant movement, but he is always helping students. They line up outside his door patiently waiting for their turn to speak to him. Never had I met a man with such aptitude and energy to help students outside his office hours. It all made sense to me once I discovered he was one of the original founders of Summer Language Intensive Programs (SLIP) offered during the summer at CSUSB, which will be entering its seventh year. “We are the most affordable and one of the most rigorous summer language intensive residential programs in the nation,” … [Read more...] about SLIP into a new world this summer
