The Trail Less Traveled

February 6, 2017 by Nylles Vernon Leave a Comment

By Nylles Vernon |Staff Writer| Within the last few weeks the weather has made it difficult to stay dry. However, it has created some beautiful trails for Southern California hikers. California has been in a severe drought for the last four years, but in the last few weeks we have been receiving a serious amount of rainfall throughout the state. This weather change has carved out new trails, paths and walkways for adventurous hikers to roam and explore in the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Big Falls is a glorious waterfall that flows all year long, located east of Highway 38, and is even more gorgeous after the rainfall that we just experienced. Even though San … [Read more...] about The Trail Less Traveled

According to AllTrails.com, the Big Falls Trail is a 0.8 mile trail located near Forest Falls, Calif. where the waterfall is located. "The falls area is beautiful. Coachella the best decision

May 7, 2015 by Archived posts Leave a Comment

By Itzayana Jimenez |Staff Writer| On May 16, 2014, I made one of the greatest decisions: I bought my Coachella weekend one ticket. Coachella is Southern California’s biggest annual music festival. It is a three-day festival located in the Mojave desert known for having a large variety of both mainstream and indie artists, hipsters with over-priced clothes, and an enormous amount of celebrity attendees. A few of the fashion trends at Coachella this year were floppy sun hats, bikini tops, cut-off shorts, and Bohemian dresses. Coachella 2015 was my first time attending the festival and it exceeded any of my expectations. To start off, as I was driving into the festival‘s … [Read more...] about Coachella the best decision

April 18, 2014 by Archived posts Leave a Comment

By Mark Klopping |Staff Writer| A boy sits in the shade waiting for his sister in a hooded sweatshirt and jeans, hands in his pockets while tree branches shade him from the sun that was once masked by the morning haze. For Southern Californians, this weather is nothing out of the ordinary. On Wednesday April 16, the sun was out in partial force. San Bernardino is no stranger to winds, rain and temperatures in the high 80s—this is the life known for all CSUSB students. Tyler Graham, a local high school student visiting the campus knows the difficulties of this Southern California weather. “It says it’s going to be cold, but then it’s hot, then it turns cold and it’s hot … [Read more...] about How to be prepared for CSUSB’s crazy weather changes

She & Him returns with vintage sound in Volume Three

May 10, 2013 by Archived posts Leave a Comment

By Shannon Luster |Staff Writer| She and Him returned with a 14-song compilation of catchy and foot-tapping good tunes in their third album Volume 3, recently released on May 14. Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward make up the band, which has become wildly popular, especially in the independent music circuit. The band’s music is an influence from 1960s bands like The Beach Boys, well known for their breakthrough, psychedelic album, Pet Sounds, in 1966, including popular songs like “Good Vibrations.” She and Him’s vintage fashion sense also reflects their music, both a throwback to an earlier era, but with a modern twist. One of the songs Deschanel sings in Volume 3 is “Hold Me, … [Read more...] about She & Him returns with vintage sound in Volume Three
