Persona 5 steals gamers free time

By Robert Klimper |Staff Writer| Gamers can take the lead of a gang of thieves and steal corrupt hearts in hopes of making the world a better in “Persona 5 (P5).” The sixth installment of the “Persona” franchise was released worldwide on April 4, 2017 after several delays since its originally planned release in winter of 2014. It was released in Japan on Sept. 15, 2016. Even though this is the sixth entry into the franchise, new players do not have to worry. As has been the case since “Persona 3,” the game can be enjoyed on its own merit, outside of minor references to previous installments. Atlus, the producers of the “Persona” series, improves upon the elements that fans of the … [Read more...] about Persona 5 steals gamers free time

Video Games of February

By Arthur Medrano |Staff Writer| Video games are the quintessential way for students and friends to have a good time without having to get physically hurt, unless you button smash, which brings hours of soreness and ice packs to the party. PlayStation 20th Anniversary

By Nicholas Whitt |Staff Writer| PlayStation's 20th anniversary has arrived, giving us a celebration of play. Sony has drastically morphed the idea of home entertainment since the arrival of its first console, the PlayStation in 1994. It also had enough impact to change the way consoles were built and run. The PlayStation was one of the few consoles that successfully brought the ability to play CD-ROMs on consoles, replacing cartridges and the act of blowing into them all day so they work—eventually. It also gave some of the first 3D in-game cut scenes from video games. Francisco Cuevas, current PlayStation owner and Coyote stated, "The PlayStation was the greatest console … [Read more...] about PlayStation 20th Anniversary

Sony proves to be weak under fear

By Daniel DeMarco |Copy Editor| Sony Pictures decided to cancel the release of the new film, The Interview― what a disgrace. This decision is contemptible; plain and simple. Sony should not have cancelled the film release. The Interview has been courting controversy since it was introduced, as it is a film in which the main plot involves assassinating the current-leader of North Korea, Kim-Jong Un. Keep in mind that the film is a comedy portraying the concept in a satirical fashion, ultimately making a mockery of the whole concept. Of course, the only source of controversy to the making and release of the film was North Korea. Kim-Jong Un made threatening statements and … [Read more...] about Sony proves to be weak under fear
