Latin Night is just around the corner, as it will be taking place on Friday, Nov. 17 at the Santos Manuel Student Union (SMSU) Lobby and Events Center, where everyone is invited to dance the night away to Latin music. "It brings the Latino culture and a lot of people get excited about it," said Programming Student Assistant for Program Board Destiny Lara Benzor. Program Board works with different organizations on campus and is dedicated to promote a sense of community at CSUSB through free, exciting, and entertaining events. The event brought out a lot of people to participate including the men from Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Phi Beta Sigma. It was intended to raise awareness of sexual assault, abuse and rape that happen everyday to women. A Mile In Her Shoes challenged men to wear red women’s high heels and walk a “mile” around the library lawn to show men that it was not easy for a women to look good, but for them to also understand that the things they say when a woman looks “hot” or “sexy” could be taken for sexual assault. On May 25, the Veterans Success Center (VSC) celebrated their grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony behind the flag poles located in front of campus. “The ceremony is very important because with the death of our former Coyote, Lt. Wow! Last week, Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity had their Bootcamp on the Pfau library lawn, and it was a fun experience to watch people run through. T-shirts were given out if you participated, and they were tabling too, raising funds for The Wounded Warrior Project.
