By Manny Sandoval |Contributing Writer The City of Redlands is deemed to be one of the most haunted towns in America. From apparitions of a boy swinging on a swing at Mariposa Elementary School, to hearing footsteps run across the stage at Prospect Park to an even more frightening demonic face that appears inside The Barton Mansion. There is no doubt that Redlands is the ultimate city to ghost hunt. Redland's Mariposa Elementary school is filled with happy students by day, but at night its known to be extremely quiet, dark and eerie. “Unfriended” is not your typical horror film
By Jose Alvarez | Staff Writer | “Unfriended” is a low budget film that has been making a lot of noise around CSUSB lately. The movie was released on April 17 with what seemed to be low expectations from everyone. If you ask me, the movie was pretty decent. What’s unique about the film is that we, the audience, view it as if it were a Skype call. The screenwriter, Nelson Greaves, used an unknown spirit that invades the Skype transmission. The plot goes as follows: Laura Barns was a victim of cyber-bullying after a video was posted online of her passed out at a party. The storyline is decent, based around the … [Read more...] about Ouija movie keeps it cheesy
Outlast review: Prepare to be petrified
By Phil Ruddle |News Editor| I've disconnected myself from the real world, turned off the lights, and raised the TV volume. I'm petrified. Yet, I can't look away while being on the edge of my seat and barely able to hold the controller. "Outlast" is terrifying and one of the most original survival horror games in years, I definitely give it a four out of five rating. This game provides a different spin as there aren't any weapon upgrades, items, skill set attributes or even the ability to fight back. Your only options are to run, hide, or die. There are pacing drawbacks, the second half is not as good as the first, and some might not like the system of not being able to … [Read more...] about Outlast review: Prepare to be petrified
