By Sierra Marrero |Assistant Community Editor| The CSUSB Recreation & Wellness Center (Rec Center) hosted its annual Celebrate EveryBody Week starting on Feb. 27 and ending on March 2. The event has been held every year since 2010 to promote positive self image. The Personal Training staff explained that the purpose of the event is to remind people that we come in all shapes and sizes, and to encourage body appreciation. "We all come into the gym for different reasons, whether it is to lose weight, gain muscle, or relieve stress," said personal trainer, Jennifer Item. October 18, 2014 by Archived posts 3 Comments

By Javier Rodriguez |Staff Writer| Student Recreation and Fitness Center Rock Wall Coordinator Dominic Trujillo hosted a small competition called, “add-on”. The game, to those not familiar with climbing, is similar to a basketball game of horse. With chalk flying in the air, climbers marked their climbs as they progressed up the wall. I was reading a forum about other climbing gyms and I know we’ve never done anything like … [Read more...] about Cosmic Climbing

May 27, 2012 by Archived posts

By Shanieka Perrier |Staff Writer| Are you feeling stressed and want to relax? Well head on down to the Student Fitness and Recreational Center and see where your future massage bed will be. The Recreational Committee is having a board of directors meeting to discuss whether or not they should make an addition to the SFRC, a state of the art Hydro Massage Bed. The public affairs office is handing out surveys to get the students’ perspective on whether or not is it a good idea. For the school to consider my position as a student shows that CSUSB students’ opinions are valued. Initially I was against it. However, after researching the possibility of it, I’m for it. With the state … [Read more...] about Stressed students would benefit from massage bed
