The Kansas City Royals selected him in the 30th round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) June Amateur Draft and assigned him to their minor league system to start out in. He played center field and batted a .330 average in his final season played with the Coyote baseball team. He gained several career accolades and records that would solidify him among one of the best to ever lace up on the diamond for the Coyotes. Silva wins fight and fails drug test
By Jacques Lee |Staff Writer| Former Ultimate Fighting Championship, (UFC) Middleweight Champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva returned to the cage on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. After what seemed like a convincing victory by the former champion some new news hit the lime light. On Feb. 3, 2015 both Silva and his opponent Nick Diaz failed random drug tests. Silva tested positive for Anabolic Steroids, while Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites. As of Feb. 5 there has not been any other news on the subject. Student Valentina Aproda explained the benefits of joining AFROTC and the opportunities it provides students. In order to join, you do not initially have to be a student at CSUSB to join. In fact, Aproda is a student from UCR. You are only required to have a 2.0 GPA, be a full-time student, and have at least three years left of college. James Smart has a brilliant knack for capturing the treacherous terrain of the western United States. The CSUSB professor and Coyote Chronicle faculty advisor had his wonderful works on display over the weekend at the 32nd annual Art for Heaven’s Sake show in Redlands, California. The art show, held at the Redlands United Church of Christ, features more than 60 artists in the fi elds of painting, ceramics, photography and jewelry. Many of the artists are local, but over the years the art show has showcased exhibits from all across the globe.
