CeCe McDonalds at CSUSB

By Vivian Gurrola-Amissah |Staff Writer| An African American transgender women and LGBTQ activist, CeCe McDonald, visited CSUSB on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the San Manuel Student Union auditorium to speak about her journey being victimized by law enforcement. Since her 2014 release, McDonald travels around the country, sharing her experiences to other transgender women victimized by the criminal justice system. Many students waited patiently as seats began to fill up our auditorium room Thursday morning. People of color become more prominent in media

By Viviain Gurrola-Amissah |Staff Writer| Television has become more diverse than ever, with a variety of TV shows coming out this year, diversity has taken a large role on taking away stereotypical roles for people of color. From "Empire,"  "Jane the Virgin,"  and "Fresh off the Boat," these are a few shows that have a diverse cast and writers group that are based on talent and not stereotypes. Colors of the Rainbow has CSUSB students talking about coming out

By Kevin Schaefer |Staff Writer| People of color need better representation in the LGBTTQQIA community and the community at large. This was one of the sentiments expressed on March 6 at Colors of the Rainbow held in the SMSU Theater. The Pride Center hosted a panel of LGBTTQQIA people of color who talked about their experiences and discussed different aspects about being a person of color within the LGBTTQQIA community. The panel included Alex Iling, DeeJay Brown, Bien Fule-ver, Virginia Millacci and Izak Perrez.
