Men’s basketball wins 1-out-of-2

By Kaila Morales | Staff Writer | CSUSB Men's Basketball gave their all against conference leader, Chico State Wildcats on Feb. 13. The game went back and forth as there was a total of 13 lead changes and 11 ties throughout the game. The Coyotes never allowed the Wildcats to be up more than four points during regulation. However, after a strong second half from the Coyotes, the Wildcats were able to pull through, scoring the first 10 points in OT to defeat the Coyotes 91-79. Senior Juan Martinez was CSUSB’s leading scorer with a total of 19 points against the Wildcats. Soccer falls in double overtime

By Yesica Chavez | Staff Writer CSUSB Coyotes men's soccer lost in double overtime to the Sonoma State University (SSU) Seawolves on Oct. 29 at the Coyote Premier Field, which cost them a spot in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) tournament. "We lead them through the game and they scored in overtime," explained Coyote defender Daniel Looker. Starting off the first half, Coyote midfielder Robert Wagner missed his first attempted shot.  The Seawolves then took control of the ball. Coyote men’s basketball suffers unfortunate loss

By Nathaniel Lastrapes |Staff Writer| Forty minutes were not enough as the Coyotes suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Chico State Wildcats 73-72 on a three-pointer at the buzzer. The Coyotes led 72-70 with 10 seconds remaining in overtime, after Coyote shooting guard, Jacob Thomas, missed a free throw and gave the Wildcats one more opportunity to tie or take the lead. The Wildcats swung the ball around the perimeter to their point guard, Mike Rosaroso, for a wide-open three-point basket that he nailed at the buzzer, securing the victory for the Wildcats. Basketball making their way back to the top 10

By Kiro Guirguis |Staff Writer| The Coyotes men’s basketball team split their games last weekend defeating Cal State Stanislaus, and losing in overtime to Chico State on Feb. 8. The team are now ranked 17 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II poll after winning 77-75 at Cal State Stanislaus and losing 86-82 at Chico State. The Coyotes have continuously fought to win their road games in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and have proved to be successful again against the Stanislaus Warriors. By Jovani Gama |Sports Editor| With the Los Angeles Clippers breathing heavily on their backs, and the frightening possibility of facing the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs looming over their heads, the Los Angeles Lakers entered Sunday afternoon in a matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder in what most would call a must win scenario.
