January 22, 2016 by Archived posts 1 Comment

By Andrea Jimenez |Staff Writer| "New year, new me," is phrase often used on the first day of the new year to celebrate a new start. Whether it is a healthier meal plan, a flatter stomach, or even a brand new hairstyle, everyone is ambitious to make their upcoming 365 days extraordinary. Although it's always great to be self-motivated and determined to change as an individual, we should also think about ways to change as a society. What trend will we participate in this year? Which trends will we help eliminate? 2015 was filled with crazy, weird trends that although were very entertaining, also ridicule our generation. Hoverboards, are an example of this. New year, new me make new goals not resolutions

January 17, 2014 by Archived posts 255 Comments

By Marie Fernandes |Staff Writer| Making New Year’s resolutions is a waste of time. We should focus on making goals to make ourselves happier and our lives better. I believe Black Friday is far too hectic, shoppers show so much aggression towards others just to get better shopping deals on electronics or toys. But there are sales going on throughout the holiday season, not just on Black Friday. Cyber Monday is often overlooked, but it can give shoppers just as many deals as Black Friday in a lot less stressful and safer environment because the only thing shoppers have to deal with is their own computer. When she was asked if she would rather do Cyber Monday or Black Friday, student Brianna Jointer said, “Cyber … [Read more...] about Avoid Black Friday lines shop online on Cyber Monday

Students find resolutions for the New Year

January 18, 2013 by Archived posts 1 Comment

By Megan Spencer |Staff Writer| A New Year’s Resolution is commonly a goal or set of goals someone sets out to accomplish in the upcoming year. Since it is the beginning of the year, it is only appropriate to have New Year’s resolutions. A new year means new beginnings. Everyone has a reason why they strive for their particular resolutions. The New Year generates people to look back on the past year, but more importantly looking forward into the future. This is the time when people reflect on the changes they want to make and resolve with the objective to follow through on those changes. Students at CSUSB are no exception. I had the opportunity to speak to students on campus … [Read more...] about Students find resolutions for the New Year
