By Angie Burkhart |Staff Writer| The latest MyCoyote upgrade is more organized and efficient, which makes for an easier navigation process despite student gripes about the new interface. MyCoyote is a portal intended to give students online access to various academic-related tools, from scholarships and paying their tuition to enrolling for classes and checking their latest course schedule. Because the portal is the central hub for many college necessities, I believe it’s important that students be able to access each tool with ease. In my opinion, the new MyCoyote upgrade which went live on Dec. 18, is far more organized and efficient than it was before. CSUSB student … [Read more...] about MyCoyote is much improved

Students respond to MyCoyote changes
By Jocelyn Colbert |Staff Writer| On Dec. 18, 2014, a brand new MyCoyote portal was launched at CSUSB. E-mails notifying the campus community about the revamped program were sent out before the launch. “The university has begun the process of planning for a complete redesign of the csusb.edu website. The process will take 18-24 months, will be pursued in phases, resulting in a complete redesign of the website that will be dynamic, user-friendly and focused on prospective students, parents and community constituents,” said Samuel Sudhakar, vice resident and chief information officer at CSUSB. CSUSB should implement faster emergency response notifications
By Stephanie Madrigal |Staff Writer| Late afternoon notifications about the recent Devore fire left staff and students confused and concerned about the campus’ safety. Frequent phone calls, text messages, and e-mails were sent out to all staff and students regarding information related to the fire. A fire in North Devore sent smoke through the air on campus at 10:55 a.m. My first text message was received shortly after the fire’s smoke was visible to the campus. Following the text messages, I received a phone call with a voice mail and an e-mail roughly around 1:46 p.m. The notifications included information with the location of the fire and traffic interruptions caused by the fire … [Read more...] about CSUSB should implement faster emergency response notifications
