Men’s basketball beat Otters

By Jacques Lee |Staff Writer| Coyote men's basketball team fought long and hard to get a solid win in Thursday night's game against Cal State Monterey Bay. The game had a slow start but the Coyotes were able to keep the intensity up.They went into the second half looking for victory. The Coyotes shot at 36 percent from the field during the first half but that percentage increased to 43 percent in the second half. This ledt to 40 percent shooting average. The Coyotes had a close win with a score of 69-66. The Coyotes were led by junior Guard Jacob Thomas. Thomas led the team by scoring 19 points, three steals and one assist. CSUSB Men’s Soccer struggle in match against CSULA

By Greg Avetisyan |Staff Writer| The Coyotes men’s soccer team suffered defeat 2-1 on Sunday, Sept. 29 against Cal State University Los Angeles. Beginning the season 4-0-2, the losing streak placed the team at 4-4-2 overall and 2-4 in CCAA. It’s been a tough stretch for the Coyotes as they failed to score a goal in their previous three games losing 1-0. Despite having four key players injured, the Coyotes broke the slump when junior Omar Laris scored his first goal in the first half. The team scored in the last few minutes of the game. Saluting our distinguished athlete veterans

By Ashlynne Macan |Staff Writer| Certain athletes have served our country, not only by providing entertainment through the sports they play, but by taking part in the military as well. For that, we salute them as veterans. There are a few standouts when we think about veteran athletes. Professional athletes such as Bob Feller, Yogi Berra, Roger Staubach, Pat Tillman, Ted Williams, Warren Spahn, David Robinson, Hank Greenberg, Jackie Robinson and Stan Musial. Bob Feller was a pitcher for the Cleveland Indians from 1936 to 1956. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.
