By Manal Museitef |Staff Writer| The Society of Student Filmmakers (SSF) might be seen as the poodles of the film and production scene here at CSUSB, but they are quietly securing their status among the big dogs. The purpose of SSF is to touch base on the ideas of commercial media and to understand cinematography's underlying characteristics. With the help from their President Alex Hedstrom, they have been branching out and looking forward to many future filmmaking opportunities. By Manal Museitef | Staff Writer| CSUSB students gathered their efforts to raise awareness about the issues between Israel and Palestine. The school's first Palestine Awareness Week featured the display of a mock Apartheid wall, humanitarian speakers, and the film screening of the award-winning film, "Occupation 101,” with the help from the Muslim Student Association and Cross Cultural Center. "I wanted to raise awareness. I didn't expect anything back in return," said PAW Coordinater Omar Abdelkhaleq.
