Assisting students since 1971, the library is a $4.4 million project covering nearly 166,000 square feet of the CSUSB campus. Turk goes further to say that we have become slaves to technology. Just the sound of the click-clack-click-clack of a laptop’s keyboard sends me worlds away from the lecture at hand. Not all students pounding away at the keyboard are actually taking notes either. Some are catching up on Facebook, sending e-mails, instant messaging or playing games. I was researching which tablet to buy because I thought it would help with textbooks and other materials for my classes. As my search went on, I discovered that the tablets are best used by students for recreational use, not scholarly research. The most popular tablets out there are the iPad2 by Apple and the Kindle Fire by Amazon.
