By Brandon Landrum |Staff Writer| Senior guard Lacy Haddock had a phenomenal year playing for Coyote men’s basketball. Haddock was a standout player this year for the Coyotes averaging 12.8 points, 6.3 assist and 2.9 rebounds per game in 26 games. Haddock came from Las Vegas, Nev and graduated from Sierra Vista High School in 2007. He averaged 18.7 points per game during his senior year. Haddock has played for College of Southern Idaho, Yavapai College, and Central Washington University before playing here at CSUSB in 2012. Men’s basketball still ranking number 14

By Ryan Navaroli |Staff Writer Coyote men’s basketball team defeated the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles by a landslide. The Coyotes played their best game of this season, with a victory of 92-51 over the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles Friday night. The game marked their largest margin of victory in the last five seasons. The No. 14 team in the nation has now won 14 consecutive games. The landslide win proves the Coyotes are a force to be reckoned with in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Men’s basketball makes it 14th in the nation

By Ryan Navaroli |Staff Writer   The Coyotes men’s basketball team is now 14th in the nation with 11 straight wins.The team was victorious with a 91-74 victory over the Cal State East Bay Pioneers Saturday night. The game began with the Coyotes leading 44-42 at the end of an evenly played first half. The Coyotes would gain control over the Pioneers with a huge run firing up the Coyote fans to start the second half. Senior forward, Jordan Burris, accounted for seven of those points. “Coming out of half time we had a sense of urgency. It is all about staying aggressive,” said Burris. Men’s Basketball defeats Westmont College

Playing against Westmont College in CSUSB’s season home-opener, the Warriors didn’t stand a chance against the dynamic performance of the eager and focused Coyotes, losing the game to 81-88. Lacey Haddock contributed a record tying 14 assists along with 15 points to help the Coyotes maintain the lead for the entire contest. His first double-double of the season, Haddock also grabbed five rebounds and managed three steals from the opposition. Another great player for the Coyotes was Andrew Young. CSUSB men’s basketball gains control over CSU San Francisco and Sonoma State

By Brandon Landrum |Staff Writer| Despite the weekend split last weekend, the CSUSB men’s basketball team bounced back with two straight wins on Feb. 28 and March 1. One of the games was an overtime thriller that led the Coyotes to victory. The Coyotes played against the Gators of CSU San Francisco on Feb. 28 and the Seawolves of Sonoma State University to end the regular season. In the first game against CSU San Francisco, the Coyotes got off to a great start and never looked back, beating the Gators 89-58. Lacy Haddock: Dedicated student athlete

By Brandon Landrum |Staff Writer| Lacy Haddock is a junior guard for the CSUSB men’s basketball team and has been playing basketball for most of his life. Not only is he a great basketball player, but he also wants to be involved with sports after college. In his first year playing for the Coyotes, Haddock is averaging 10.5 points, 4.5 assist, and 2.7 rebounds this season. Due to his dedication on the court, off the court family is his motivation. CSUSB men’s basketball gets stopped by Chico and Stanislaus

By Brandon Landrum |Staff Writer| Despite giving it their all, the CSUSB men’s basketball team went down in both games on Feb. 15 and Feb. 16. The Coyotes played the Wildcats of CSU Chico and the Warriors of CSU Stanislaus. The team traveled to CSU Chico to play the Wildcats in the first of two road games. In the first half, the Coyotes started off strong, keeping the game close but toward the end of the half, the Wildcats began to pull away. The team shot 33 percent from the three-point line and had a 30 percent field goal percentage in the first. Men’s basketball picks up needed wins

By Brandon Landrum |Staff Writer| Despite two losses in the past two games, the CSUSB men’s basketball team bounced back with two straight wins on Jan. 18 and 19. The Coyotes played the Pioneers of CSU East Bay on Jan. 18 and the Otters of CSU Monterey Bay on Jan. 19. The Coyotes got off to a great start in their first of six games on the road in Heyward as they cruised to a 71-59 victory over CSU East Bay. Coach Oliver unsatisfied with 44 point win

By Ryan Libby |Staff Writer| The Coyotes were able to earn a 97–53 victory in their only exhibition game of the year against Cal Tech. The game was an opportunity for head coach Jeff Oliver to see what more needs to be improved despite a 44 point win. “We were awful in every aspect of the game,” he said. “We didn’t stick to our defensive principals, our transition defense was atrocious and offensively [we] didn’t execute one iota.” There were a few moments in which Cal Tech was able to find an open player off of a screen for a three point shot.
