Veganism was once the target for jokes and mockery; however, it has gained popularity in the past few years. Vegans made up six percent of the United States' population in 2015, according to FoodNavigator.com. Veganism is as "a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose," according to TheVeganSociety.com.
