Saying no to a quinceanera party to pursue doctorate degree

Choosing to study versus partying was a typical decision made by the University of Southern California (USC) graduate, Christina Gonzalez. Gonzalez shares her story of being a first-generation graduate, the challenges she faced, and how she had to overcome cultural and family expectations.  Gonzalez explains her personal experience of how being a first-generation graduate pursuing her Doctor of Education Degree (EdD) made her face cultural challenges and created family turmoil. CSUSB alumnus praises Study Abroad program

One of the programs offers students the opportunity to study overseas in Japan. I interviewed Christopher Garcia, a CSUSB alumnus with an international business degree, who is currently working in Japan. Professor Delgado inspired by simplicity

The CSUSB Alumnus has published books: “Green Web” (1994), “El Campo” (1998), “A Rush of Hands” (2003) and his soon-to-be released “Vital Signs and Lavish Weeds.” Delgado has learned to appreciate the inner beauty of life’s simplicities through his poetry. “I’m writing about the things that matter to me and the context and culture in my history. CSUSB celebrates Cinco de Mayo in style
