Coyotes played a double header against the Lakers of Mercyhurst University on the Coyotes home field on Jan. 30, winning both back to back games, 10-5 and 12-7. In game one, Sophomores Jessica Brown and Kaylee Gemell both had solo home runs in the second inning, putting the Coyotes up 2-0, Brown went 3-for-4 while Gemell went 1-for-2. In the bottom of the fourth inning Brown hit a double, which advanced pinch runner, Arianna Hernandez, to third base. Coyote Men’s Basketball takes on CSULA Golden Eagles
By Jackie Monarrez |Staff Writer| A three-pointer was all the men's basketball team needed on Jan. 22 as they took on the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles. The game was the definition of great basketball; it kept you on your toes as both teams went back and forth with no time for either of them to relax. The Coyotes struggled to keep up with the Golden Eagles throughout the game, but didn't give up. They came out on top with a 58-56 victory over the Golden Eagles, thanks to the Coyotes' own Darryl Adigwu when he shot the game winning three-pointer with only six seconds left in the game. Women’s basketball make a comeback
By Jackie Monarrez | Staff Writer | Two points really made a difference for the Coyote women's basketball team as they took to the road this past weekend. The Coyotes made their way to Northern California beginning their weekend against the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters on Friday, Jan. 15, and then against the Cal State East Bay Pioneers Saturday, Jan. 16. They put up a good fight against the Otters but took a 61-60 loss in the end. The loss to the Otters broke the Coyotes four game winning streak. After the first half of the Otters game, the Coyotes were behind 26-29. At the end of the third quarter the Coyotes had tied up the game 44-44. Women’s Soccer Ends Season with overall record of 5-10-3
By Sierra Marrero |Staff Writer| This year the Coyote's Women's Soccer team had a toss up of five wins, 10 losses, and three ties in the 2015 Women's Soccer season. Elevenn of the team's 18 games were decided by one goal. Only two of the team's games were decided by three goals. The Coyotes opened up the season with a win of 3-0 against the Academy of Art Urban Knights, and were able to exhibit dominance in their offense and defense. Freshmen Denae Verdine scored the initial goal and assisted in the remainder of the goals, as senior Melanie Aguayo scored the final two goals.
