By Kyle Richardson |Staff Writer| The Faculty Senate issued a report on the Campus Climate Survey 2016 Part One and Two. The report addressed a survey that was distributed to all employees via e-mail at CSUSB during the 2015 fall quarter. It was to measure the organizational climate of CSUSB, with an assessment of employee morale at CSUSB and employees’ perceptions of campus leadership. Results from 756 respondents of the survey indicate that there are “significant problems” with morale on the CSUSB campus. Public Administration professor resignation
By Cherie Brower |Staff Writer| Andrew Lamberto, former part-time CSUSB public administration faculty professor, was arrested on March 27 and resigned from CSUSB on Oct. 29. Lamberto was convicted of engaging and agreeing to engage in prostitution. According to prosecutors, Lamberto approached and agreed to hire a woman, whom Lamberto believed to be a prostitute. Dr. Lawrence Rose, Dean of the CSUSB College of Business and Public Administration, and Professor of Finance, confirmed in email that Lamberto has resigned as of Oct. 29. CFA strike vote tally process
By Clarissa Toll |News Editor| Results of the California Faculty Association (CFA) strike authorization vote will be announced Nov. 4, according to a CFA press release. CFA officers and bargaining team members will be made available on many campuses for comment on the results. Faculty across 23 CSU campuses voted in-person and online from Oct. 19 through Oct. 28 to determine whether or not to strike if the CFA cannot reach a deal with CSU management that they believe to be fair. Scholarly voices in favor of “fair compensation” rise against representatives rallying for reasonable budget expectations, while common footing has yet to be found. Professors protest against low salaries

Their protest concerned faculty wages that they claim have not been raised in eight years. Approximately 30 faculty and staff members stood outside the main entrance of the Student Union holding picket signs and marching for their cause. An abundance of students were watching and supporting the protesting staff. Professor evaluations forms receive scrutiny

CSUSB student Kathryn Wall doesn’t understand who gets evaluated and why. “I had [to do] 3 [evaluations] on Tuesday and I was wondering why my fourth teacher didn’t get evaluated. I’ve also had teachers that I didn’t like... and I never got the chance to evaluate them,” said Wall. Biology petition fails to open more sections

Polcyn, Department Chair of the Biology Department at CSUSB sent out an email announcing the department will not open up another section for Biology 300 course, despite students signing a petition. Bio 300, Cell Physiology, is a requirement needed in order to graduate as a Biology major and is used in other majors as well. Students eager to graduate found themselves signing a petition in an attempt to open another section for Bio 300, however according to Polcyn, signing the petition will not help us in the long run. By Luz Hernandez |Staff Writer| A 38-year-old Cal State San Bernardino graduate student was shot and killed by campus police on Dec. 8. Bartholomew Williams died during an altercation with campus police, just after the CSUSB Commencement Ceremonies. The tragedy has left students, faculty and staff at CSUSB in shock. University officials have been holding open forums for members of our university community to express their sentiments and concerns regarding the shooting. Popescu wins Sony Faculty Award

Popescu was honored by the 2012 Sony Electronic Faculty Award. The award is something that early career educators receive for their innovative uses of technology in the classroom. This system-wide award, which means that the Cal State University system selects the best professors of the year. This year there were four professors that were selected out of 23 Cal State University campuses.
