By 2030, there will be 1.1 million fewer bachelor degree holding Californians in the state’s workforce, according to the Campaign for College Opportunity. The job skills gap continues to grow and become disproportionate as retiring baby boomers leave their cubicles in a great exodus. Newer generations who step foot into the workforce now find fewer positions to fill, and more demands to meet, but do not hold the education level equivalent of employees who came before them. However, many are goal-driven and have managed to balance their personal life and their busy schedules. A lot of CSUSB students have one or two jobs, as well as extracurricular activities. T.J. Maxx opens in SB offering 60 jobs

The store held its grand opening last Sunday, Nov. 3. The store brings 60 full and part-time jobs to the city and its residents. San Bernardino declared bankruptcy last year, has lost many major employers over the last decade. As of August the unemployment rate in the San Bernardino area was 10.4 percent. New Amazon store officially opens
By Marion Gil |Staff Writer| An Amazon distribution center in San Bernardino now employs 1,400 full-time workers after its grand opening Tuesday, Oct. 29th. The center was built October last year, but remained unfinished until this year. The Amazon fulfillment center employed only 700 workers at the time of its opening in October of last year. “It’s been a steady increase, and we have the space that hopefully soon we’ll hire even more,” said General Manager Jackie Underberg, stated in the San Bernardino Sun. Over 50 employers were present at the career fair: Target, Sherwin Williams, Department of Environmental Health, FIDM, U.S. Foods and Bridgestone just to name a few. “I was mostly interested in AT&T,” said student Lindsay Colombo. “They seemed to have a better opportunity for employment and the recruiters were friendlier than the others.” Student Richard Castrejon also found an interest in AT&T since they were looking to hire about 50 people.
