By Taniya Harwell |Staff Writer| San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) announced on Tuesday that San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) and Crafton Hills College have both been placed on “warning status” after their accreditation review. Gloria Fisher, SBVC’s president, has been sent back to school due to her lack of credentials in conjunction to the accreditation review. As part of the multi-year accreditation site visit and reporting cycle, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) reviewed the Institutional Self Evaluational Reports for both colleges. By Alyssa Gradias |Staff Writer| Film students showed their impeccable talent Oct. 14 at a public screening. Comm 346 students presented their short films in the Santos Manuel Student Union. Each film had varying dynamics between betrayal and friendship. One of the films that was shown was called Nowhere Road. It was about a man who took revenge on his wife's killer. It was incredible to see how the students were able to capture each emotion with the use of scene shots without dialogue. Another impressive film was directed by Inno Sita, called "Impulse". There are more students who are minoring in film studies and the department is continuing to grow thanks to dedicated professors like Metts. Musically the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival had the same line-up, however completely different festivals ensued. CSUSB finds relaxation at The Body Shoppe
By Desirae Contreras |Staff Writer| The Body Shoppe is here for you. It’s a one-stop shop for relaxation and rejuvenation. The shoppe is open Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and offers 5–30 minute chair massages in a spa-like room to CSUSB employees and students. The massages are given by certified therapists and only cost a dollar per minute. According to Valerie Merrow, Admin Support assistant, the chair massages are given by the certified “Hands on Medical Massage School” therapists in Redlands whom are linked with the Wellness 2 U program at the Loma Linda Hospital and now service us here at CSUSB.
