On Nov. 28, CSUSB held its first Giving Tuesday, where a new tradition was formed involving students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff coming together to fund new student scholarships. Known as a nationally recognized event, Giving Tuesday is celebrated around the world as a way to use social media as a platform to spread the gift of giving after the Thanksgiving holiday. $1 Million Scholarship
By Brittanie Gutierrez |Staff Writer| Give Something Back (GSB) presented a $1 million check to CSUSB in efforts to grow the college attendance rate. The money will be geared toward helping San Bernardino children coming from households with one or both parents incarcerated or who are in the foster care system. With this scholarship, students will be selected from ninth grade and have to take college preparatory classes, while maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA. CSU Water Initiative

The State Water Resources Control Board donated the grant to the entire CSU system; it focuses on the formation of programs and implementation of grants for students and faculty so that research can be done on the communities in need. PETA’s treating animals unethically

Many were shocked at the revelations that the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is mistreating animals. The Huffington Post released an article that shed a dark light on the inner workings of PETA by showing pictures of sheltered and surrendered animals being killed at the hands of the organization.
