By Sandy Rodriguez | Staff Writer | On campus, there have been 6 sexual assaults, 3 sexual harassments, 9 dating/domestic violence, and 3 stalking cases reported from July 6, 2015 to Oct. 15, 2015. Nineteen reported victims are women and two are men. Emotional, mental, verbal and social abuse are forms of abuse aside from physical. The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) held an event, Dating Violence Does Not Equal Love, that taught about the warning signs of dating violence. Sexual assault task force issued on CA colleges
By Gloria Gutierrez |Staff Writer| Sexual assault and violence on college campuses is now an issue that has caught the White House’s attention. President Barack Obama has launched a task force in efforts to focus on these issues. The task force is made up of White House administrative officials including, Attorney General Eric Holder, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Its purpose is to create proposals within a 90 day period that raise awareness as well as help prevent sexual assault and violence across the colleges of the United States.
