The Veterans Success Center is more than just a resource center to those who are a part of that community. It’s a place where those who have suffered pain and loss for serving our country can relax and feel at ease. Director, Agustin Ramirez, says being "ranked nationally as the top school in California and number 14 in the nation according to Best for Vets, " this center is a place where those who serve for our country, dependents of those who serve, and ROTC cadets can feel like themselves and be comfortable in a place where there are others like them in a successful environment. Resources offered to veterans at CSUSB
For veterans using the GI Bill, the success center can be one of their first stops, but for many, it’s also their last time there. Besides providing these students with free test taking materials, computers, free printing, and a library of textbooks to borrow, the Veteran Success Center also provides tutoring and academic advising, as well events throughout the year memorializing military history. The transition from service into college can be a very stressful time and is exactly what the center aims to ease. CSUSB gives thanks to the military
By Megan Vina |Staff Writer| Current and former members of the military do so much for our country, so CSUSB Athletics and the Veterans Success Center (VSC) teamed up to show our appreciation. U.S. military service members, including active-duty service, reserves, National Guard members, veterans, ROTC and their families filled the Coussoulis Arena on Jan. 21. Admission was free for military personnel. The festivities began with a tailgate that included food, entertainment, giveaways and raffles. The CSUSB Veterans Success Center (VSC), located next to the Bookstore, has served many Veterans. Due to all the success, they have opened a second success center on the Palm Desert Campus. Neurofeedback program
By Chelsea Galvez |Staff Writer| Student Veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can participate in Neurofeedback sessions through The Institute for Research, Assessment and Professional Development at CSUSB. The Neurofeedback program, developed four years ago by the Institute for research at CSUSB, may be used for individuals ages five-95 who suffer from depression, ADHD, epilepsy and more. By Luz Hernandez |Staff Writer| CSUSB has been ranked number one among all public universities for the support and services it offers to its military personnel and veteran students, according to a survey taken by Military Advanced Education (MAE) 2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities. MAE surveys more than 300 U.S. colleges and universities, including private, public, for-profit, not-for-profit, four-year and two-year colleges in California, in which CSUSB placed sixth overall. Veterans Memorial Day tribute

On May 25, the Veterans Success Center (VSC) celebrated their grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony behind the flag poles located in front of campus. “The ceremony is very important because with the death of our former Coyote, Lt.
