The Rec Center offers a full range of climbing instruction where CSUSB students are able to learn how to rock climb. The celebration was in honor of the SMSU, to commemorate its 36th anniversary. “One of the main goals for our SMSU birthday bash is to collect as much student feedback as possible,” said Alexsaundra Preston, marketing coordinator for the SMSU. Burning into Winter quarter with TRX

The class is geared to keep the heart rate pumping, calories burning, and pain thriving with the variety of different exercises. TRX Circuit Training is offered Mondays at 4:30 p.m. and Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. in room 203 for all members of the Rec Center. The TRX Suspension Training is the best-in-class workout for doing hundreds of exercises using bodyweight. Now picture yourself having the opportunity to swim the entire length of the lake, but conveniently located on campus at the CSUSB pool. Well, now is your chance to get your climb on at the recreational sports center where the climbing staff offers rock climbing lessons throughout the quarter. The artificial rock wall is located inside the Recreation Center, with a 34 feet high, 1,000 square foot climbing artificial rock. The wall contains several trails, which vary in difficulty. The team Kiss my Ace, took the A league finals against team Take Notes this past Tuesday May 28, with a score of 15-11 the first game, 9-15 in the second and 25-20 in the third, winning best two out of three. Krystal Nunez, Kasi Kauvaka, Jonny Tuitavke, Kasandra Ramos, Jasmin Keller, and Sal Aguilar, played on team Kiss my Ace. Iron Coyote Triathlon challenges students’ will and physical fitness
By Shane Burrell |Staff Writer| The Spring quarter fitness event, “The Iron Coyote” is giving students an opportunity to challenge themselves and each other’s fitness in physical activities. The Iron Coyote Triathlon consists of 26.2 miles of running, 112 miles of biking, and 2.4 miles of swimming, but don’t worry about finishing all of this in one day, competitors have the entire quarter to complete all of the activities. “Students have from April 15 to June 7 to finish the event” said Barry Greene Jr. Coyote fitness coordinator.
