By Shanna Shernaman |Staff Writer| CSUSB’s track and field team is full of talented, hard-working athletes. One who stands out is freshman Sinclair Watson. Watson is competing in her first year of running at the college level and she has already qualified for California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Conference Championships for both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. “Running at the college level is way different from high school, there’s a lot more competition which is a good thing. On March 21, 2014 Athletic Director Kevin Hatcher announced the conclusion of the women's water polo and the organization of track and field. The Coyote water polo program began in 1999 and was ended last year due to lack of participation from schools in the conference. The shocking announcement to cut the sport was made March 21 by Director of athletics, Dr. Kevin Hatcher and Mark Reinhiller, Associate of Media relations.
