Young adults in this generation are hit with unexpected independence. Whether they are ready to enter into the world of adulthood or not, they are expected to find a sense of prioritizing a life that is constantly changing. Everywhere, the constant question that seems to be presented to the average eighteen-year-old is, “Hey, you going to college?” or “So just working for now, huh?” These new-born adults begin to decide if college, work, care-taking, or other means of responsibility outweigh the importance of other responsibilities and choices. CSUSB professor, Dr. Jasmine Lee, from the English Department of College of Arts and Letters considered the factors of what determines … [Read more...] about Prioritizing life in early adulthood

Get equipped for the future by finding a mentor
Students can invest in their current studies and future careers by pursuing and interacting with mentors. According to their website, it is the largest representative study of college graduates in U.S. history. In this study, they focus on several things including quality of life and happiness once a student graduates. Ending Student Hunger on CSU Campuses
By Brittanie Gutierrez |Staff Writer| College can be—and is—expensive. Students often have to sacrifice certain things in order to afford their education, but food should never be one of them. AB-453 was introduced by Assembly Member Monique Limón after Assembly Bill 214 (AB-214), a bill that "would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to reduce the incidence of hunger and homelessness among college students in California [...] provide definitions of “on-campus … [Read more...] about Ending Student Hunger on CSU Campuses

Athletes offseason conditioning
By Kieron Coleman |Staff Writer| When it comes to athletes at CSUSB, the off-season is a time where teams come together to work on strength and agility. It allows their muscles to be in the best possible condition for when the season comes around. Most college sports seasons are intense because of the large amount of games played over such a short period of time. Athletes have to do their workouts around their scheduled classes. Before the quarter starts, coaches send out times where they are not allowed to schedule any of their classes. Athletes work in a separate gym at the school, where it gives them the opportunity to work out with two highly knowledgeable coaches. "The … [Read more...] about Athletes offseason conditioning
Students discuss graduation plans
By Amber Childress |Staff Writer| Although college is supposed to be a four year plan intended for all students, not every student agrees. Some students see college as a process that every student has to go through at their own pace in order to advance. “The process of graduating is everything you’ve done to get you to finish," stated student Jackie Barajas. "It’s the hard work you put in for years, the long hours of studying, the stress, and everything else that comes with it,” added Barajas. Other students consider requirements that must be fulfilled as a determining factor in one's graduation plan. “Before you start taking classes for your major you have to go … [Read more...] about Students discuss graduation plans
