The end of the season often results in the end of many collegiate careers for the student-athletes. The baseball team leads the others with a total of 13 departing seniors, five more than the next. The men's basketball team follows with eight. The softball team has four seniors, while the golf and track team have three apiece. The women's basketball team has just one senior. Coyotes lose double header to San Diego Tritans
By Amanda Mendoza |Staff Writer| The Coyotes took a sweeping loss in their double header against the UC San Diego Tritons on Saturday April 27 at Fiscalini Field. The Coyotes and the Tritons split earlier games on Thursday and Friday in La Jolla, with UCSD winning 7-3 and the Coyotes winning 4-2. The Yotes struggled defensively and lost game one on Saturday with a final score, 4-11. However, Aaron Beckley had two RBI's, one on a walk in the second inning and the other singled to right field, in the fourth inning. Alexander sees NBA in his future

Alexander, the All-CCAA senior forward seemed surprised at his YouTube popularity with over 800,000 views on YouTube for his high flying slam dunks, appearances on ESPN, ABC and NBC as well as the number two play on SportsCenter’s top 10 plays of the week. Women’s soccer inches closer to playoffs with win over Chico
By Ryan Libby |Staff Writer| The women’s soccer team hoped to secure a spot in the playoffs and 2nd place in the South Division going into the weekend. Coming into the match against Chico State on Friday, the Lady Coyotes ranked fourth in their division, just two points behind Cal State L.A. for second. If the Coyotes manage to win each of their next two games, they would qualify for an automatic bid to the CCAA tournament. Now in her 22nd year, Cherniss continues to recruit dynamic players in an effort to put together a perfect team. “We want dynamic athleticism,” said Cherniss. “Be exceptional in some regard whether it’s your jumping ability, your speed, your height, your volleyball IQ, your execution level, your experience level, be dynamic in some regard because then if you find enough of those pieces then you can put together a puzzle that has championship qualities.” It’s safe to say that the “puzzle” is slowly coming together this year. Smith focuses on reaching her personal goals

Momentum, that carried them all the way to a 32-1 record last season with their only loss against Concordia State in the NCAA championship game.
