By Joshua Aguilar |Staff Writer| Our world is changing every day, and as students we have the power to make it change for the better. We may not have the ability to foresee the future, but we can always sit back and imagine what life will be like in the year 2030. The future can be both exciting and frightening to think about how much our daily choices can shape the future 14 years from now. Students change so much in the four years that they spend here at CSUSB, adding another 10 years of transformation to their lives will yield an incredible difference between the students of today and of the future. Student Darelle Amores shared how he thinks college life will be different … [Read more...] about College life in 2030

Start your “who” here
By Destiny Guzman |Staff Writer| Involvement and participation in school activities create a more enjoyable and meaningful college experience. “My definition of a meaningful college experience is an experience in which you can get something out of – not just for yourself but for others as well,” said student Alberto Rendon. Rendon is an active student who is involved in a variety of organizations like the Kappa Sigma fraternity, Anime Club, Local Matters (CSUSB television production); and on top of all of that, he is the president of the Society for Student Filmmakers (SSF). Going to your classes, leaving right after and not participating in any school activities, opportunities … [Read more...] about Start your “who” here
Superheroes of CSUSB
By Joshua Aguilar |Staff Writer| Superheroes may only exist in comics and movies, but imagine if they were among us at CSUSB. The life of a student would be exciting if they were granted the powers of their favorite comic book hero. Students would be able to take advantage of all the benefits their powers can give them to make college life easier. With a plethora of options, one can’t help but wonder what would the students choose for their superpowers. “With my ability to stop time, I would stop cars from pulling into the parking spot I want,” said student Brandon Sanchez. “That way you could park in a really good spot in front of the UH building, because no one wants to … [Read more...] about Superheroes of CSUSB
Let’s Chill: Students hang out in San Bernardino
By Maria de Lourdes Campos |Staff Writer| “There’s no better university than CSUSB,” stated student Britney Allan. According to Allan, the reason why CSUSB is one of the best universities is because there are an enormous amount of places around campus where students can go hangout. These places provide students with stress free environments where they can unwind and de-stress. “I love the Woman’s Resource Center here on campus, because it is peaceful and friendly. Not to mention, that they have free Scantrons, which is great if you’re ever in need of some. They also have free snacks, chocolates, and condoms, so it doesn’t get any better than that,” stated student Shirleena … [Read more...] about Let’s Chill: Students hang out in San Bernardino
Pros and cons of The Greek life
By Mark Kroppling | Staff Writer| The Greek life on campus is not typical of everything you see in the movies. Many sororities and fraternities focus on education, as well as giving back to the community, and this past week was a perfect example. Each sorority and fraternity chose an organization to provide their services. Sorority Lambda Data Alpha President Jessica Bracamontes likes what her sorority represents. “We are academic-based. We don’t focus a lot on parties,” said Bracamontes. “This week we have our philanthropy week, and we are doing Make a Wish,” continued Bracamontes. Upon weighing the pros and cons, Bracamontes said that not every student feels that going Greek … [Read more...] about Pros and cons of The Greek life
Be weary of what you put on social media
By Erin Leach |Staff Writer| In a single day there are over half a billion tweets and five million images uploaded to Instagram. Everyone has heard the common idea that once you post it, it permanently lives on the Internet. This is true, and sadly students don’t realize the implications of what they might be posting. Pictures or tweets about alcohol, weed, and the college life are normal everyday occurrences. However, it becomes a dangerous thing when you sit back to think that a large portion of the people you follow, or connect with, on social media don’t know the person you are. A majority of the people we connect with on social media don’t interact with us on a daily … [Read more...] about Be weary of what you put on social media
Learn from my mistakes (Week 4)
Dear Julia, Whenever I ask my friend about any trouble that may be going on in her life she feels the need to be dishonest with me. What can I do to confront her about it? Should I even attempt it? Signed Concerned Friend Dear Concerned Friend, These can be tricky situations. Be patient with her, and try getting her mind off of things by having fun. Things will get … [Read more...] about Learn from my mistakes (Week 4)
