By Alec Escarcega Riverside once again hosted an event to celebrate the Lunar New Year, making it their 10th annual celebration of the holiday. Lunar New Year is the beginning of a calendar year with months being coordinated by cycles of the moon. The event included a variety of performances including the Lion Dance and Shaolin Kung Fu. More than 100 local street vendors also participated in the event serving attendees new fusion dishes as well as traditional Asian dishes. Students, faculty, and community members alike gathered to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. Hosted by the Chinese Student Association and sponsored by ASI, guests were ushered inside SMSU. According to Chinese Student Association member and Finance major, Siyu Shi, the organization has been planning this event for two months. 2020 Chinese Spring Festival Celebration
By Cyan Capiak Chinese Spring Festival Celebration, organized by the CSUSB Chinese Student Association and sponsored by Associate Students, Incorporated, Center of International Studies & Programs, Cross Cultural Center, and University Diversity Committee, is taking place on January 31, 2020, in the SMSU event center.
