By Jorge Campos |Staff Writer| Larry Sharp, former Vice President of Advancement at CSUSB, died on Monday Feb. 16. For 27 years, Sharp ran the largest credit union in the region as president and CEO of Arrowhead Credit Union. After a seven year long battle with colon cancer, Sharp died at Loma Linda University medical center, according to Inland News Today. Sharp was a respected businessman, community leader, and philanthropist. At 23, he began his credit union career as the general manager of Solar Federal Credit Union. Newly elected Chairman’s questionable background causes concerns in office
By, Brenda Acuna| Staff Writer| The city of San Bernardino welcomes Chris Robles, a former Los Angeles County board member, as Chairman of the Democratic party. Robles was recently elected on Sept. 27 to run the county’s Democratic Central Committee by a 31 to 22 vote. He was elected to the Democratic county committee representing the 52 Assembly District in June. While the position is an accomplishment for Robles, many committee members are skeptical of how Robles will perform due to his questionable past. Murillo elected Chairman of the Board
By Omar Guzman |Staff Writer| CSUSB’s financial aid is in the hands of newly elected chair of the Edfund Board of Directors, Dr. Enrique G. Murillo Jr. Edfund is a non-profit public-benefit auxiliary organization that works alongside with California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) which administers all activities associated with participation in the federal student loan program. “My responsibilities and commitment are to maintain high quality, uninterrupted services for the groups we serve,” said Murillo.
