Welcoming of a New Bishop

Both CSUSB and Palm Desert Catholic Newman Clubs are preparing to welcome their new bishop for the Diocese of San Bernardino. For over 25 years, Bishop Gerald R. Barnes has led the Diocese of San Bernardino from being the first Auxiliary Bishop to becoming the second ordained bishop for this local diocese. It was announced in San Bernardino at the Diocesan Pastoral Center that Bishop Alberto Rojas from the Archdiocese of Chicago will become the new Coadjutor Bishop for the Diocese of San Bernardino. Students organize prayer rally on campus to spread love

By Brittany Crow |Staff Writer| Campus organizations and students have recently started a collaboration to focus on spreading love across the campus. Student Asia Pham, community leaders, church representatives and students have conspired and initiated a student prayer rally held on campus. There were a few clubs here on campus that were called to help spread the word of the student prayer. These groups included: The Well, Campus Crusade, Beta Sigma Chi Christian Sorority and the Catholic Newman Club. Get on the Bus with the Newman’s

By Brent Thompson |Staff Writer| The Catholic Newman club held a blood drive on May 31 in the Sycamore room to help raise money for “Get on the Bus.” GOTB is a nonprofit organization which brings children and their guardians/ caregivers throughout the state of California to visit their mothers and fathers who are incarcerated in prison. For each pint donated by students and faculty the Hemacare Corporation will donate $20 to GOTB. “We'd like to get around 32 pints today.
