Coachella 2016

May 12, 2016 by Archived posts Leave a Comment

By Dalal Museitef |A&E Editor| Bandanas, people hovering over trashcans, overhearing conversations of Molly, okay line-up and overly expensive "hipster food" sums up Coachella 2016. The pros of experiencing the weekend was comfortably hiding in the media lounge where we hoarded free bottles of water and ice cream that refreshed our sandy mouths. While the first two days consisted of one hour gaps, it was the third day that overwhelmed and brought out my inner fangirl … [Read more...] about Coachella 2016

By Lupe Perez | Staff Writer | With midterms around the corner students are already thinking of ways to procrastinate. Coachella and Stagecoach being one of them.  These music celebrations range in different genres like Indie, Country, and Rap. Festival season is a great way to meet and experience artists that are unlikely to be heard of otherwise. By Raphael Dunn |Staff Writer| School is coming to an end and the weather is starting to change; summer is almost back coyotes! There is something about summer we all love, and a fresh music playlist is ideal for creating memories of those long warm nights. Many summer anthems seem to bear certain similarities depicting upbeat sounds, themes of friendship and love and lounging away with a drink in hand. With that being said, here are some of CSUSB students' top favorite songs for this summer. One Direction seems to be the boy band that never goes away, and despite the recent loss of Zayn Malik, their song "No Control" is still on repeat. The track is off their album "Four," … [Read more...] about Summer Playlist

EDM unites people and spreads love

November 15, 2014 by Archived posts Leave a Comment

By Wendy Martinez |Staff Writer| Drug use and dangerous raves have always been negative stereotypes about the music genre, electric dance music (EDM). "Don't follow the hype, follow your heart," is what many people say about this music genre that don't believe in the negative judgments. "I definitely agree with this. It upsets me when I hear people talking about going to these festivals and not going for the music but just because it's what the 'crowd' is up to nowadays and go for other purposes rather than what these festivals are meant for. Uniting those who have a passion for this genre and celebrating it as one," said CSUSB student Nelita Betanco. The birth of EDM started in … [Read more...] about EDM unites people and spreads love
