Instead, you would hear laughter and chatter about the recent mid-terms and be able to see the smiles spread across their faces. The mood was light and relaxed. It made me wonder if the stressful week of needing to win two games against opponents like Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus had weighed them down. Women’s soccer inches closer to playoffs with win over Chico
By Ryan Libby |Staff Writer| The women’s soccer team hoped to secure a spot in the playoffs and 2nd place in the South Division going into the weekend. Coming into the match against Chico State on Friday, the Lady Coyotes ranked fourth in their division, just two points behind Cal State L.A. for second. If the Coyotes manage to win each of their next two games, they would qualify for an automatic bid to the CCAA tournament. Men’s basketball falls short in showdown against Chico State
By Jovani Gama |Sports Editor| The men’s basketball team had a chance to avenge a loss they suffered earlier in the season against the powerful Chico State Wildcats, and claim first place in the CCAA potentially, Beforehand, they had to take care of business against a tough Cal State Stanislaus Warriors squad. The Coyotes did just that, putting forth an effective balanced attack on both the defensive and offensive end. Four players scored in double players, and seven players contributed with assists as the Coyotes beat down the Wildcats with a final score of 82-55. Women’s basketball lives and dies by the zone
By Shyneese Walter |Staff Writer| The women’s basketball team is continuing to fight despite the fact that their season is quickly coming to a close. This past weekend the Lady Coyotes walked away with their third straight win as they went on to defeat the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors. The last time the Coyotes faced off against the Warriors, they managed to come away with a six point victory. Friday night would prove to be a much different story as the Coyotes absolutely dismantled the Warriors beating them by a final score of 75-42.
