PR ZTA Think Pink 5K Color Run

By Anissa Vasquez |Staff Writer| It's very heartwarming to know we get the chance to make a difference in someone's life. CSUSB sorority Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) works hard during their philanthropy week and Think Pink Color Run. ZTA rose over $2,300 with all profits going directly to the American Cancer Society. ZTA philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness and Education and newly Partnered with the American Cancer Society. October is known for being Breast Cancer awareness month. This was the first time that ZTA hosted a Think Pink 5K color run to raise money for Breast Cancer research. Burlesque Comedy Showcase honors Breast Cancer Awareness

By Nailea Fabiola Ayala |Staff Writer|                     CSUSB’s Women’s Resource Center (WRC) brought glitter, dazzling costumes, and dancers with a witty sense of humor to their fourth annual Comedy and Burlesque Extravaganza Showcase. The show took place in the Santos Manuel Student Union Events Center on Friday night and kicked off promptly at 8 p.m. The event served as both a Breast Cancer Awareness and charity event, mixed with an amazing show. Katy Perry Presents: We Can Survive!

By Shelby Gonzales |Staff Writer| Katy Perry’s We Can Survive was a benefit concert put on by 97.1 AMP Radio and Citi on Oct. 23. The event was held at the Hollywood Bowl and helped raise money to support breast cancer awareness with the Young Survival Coalition. The whole income of the pro seats went towards the foundation. Katy Perry handpicked each performer she wished to have on stage with her during the benefit concert. Firemen stand up for the cause

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease and people are showing their support nationwide. People can be seen sporting pink everywhere this month. Even the National Football League players are wearing pink shoes, headbands, wristbands and pink patches on their jerseys to show support. Locally, the Redlands Fire Department is happily showing their support.  Redlands firefighters have swapped their blue t-shirts for pink ones during the month of October in recognition of BCAM. Softball seniors say farewell

By Brittany Shaw |Staff Writer| For three girls, this weekend’s softball games at home, may be their last. Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. They will finish off their last home games of the season honoring their seniors. “Losing our seniors is really going to affect us next year. They are all such big players on our team. All three are starters and two of them are my captains,” said Tacy Duncan. Duncan also went on to say that they have great girls coming up, but its hard to replace a senior who has played with you for four years with a freshman who may not be as strong yet.
